Some (new) News

A few new items have popped up recently.

One is a tiny essay I wrote called “Exoneration,” which appears in the latest issue of 5×5. It’s only one sentence long, but that sentence is far from short.

Also out are a couple of book reviews. At NC, I got to talk about Masande Ntshanga’s amazing novel, The ReactiveAnd I was so happy to review Abby Frucht and Laurie Alberts’ new, crazy tale, A Well-Made Bed, for The Northwest Review of Books.

To the Black Sea: 2 New Book Reviews

Two new book reviews out in the world. For Kenyon Review Online, I break down David Bezmozgis’s excellent novel, The BetrayersThen, at Numéro Cinq, I talk about Jeff Parker’s nonfiction journal/travelogue, Where Bears Roam the Streets. Both books are very, very different, but they share geography, with The Betrayers set on the Crimean coastline and a large chunk of Parker’s narrative also unfolding along the warm edge of the Black Sea.
